Experience the Magic of Koh Hong

Hong Island (Koh Hong) is widely considered the jewel of the Krabi archipelago, offering a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation without the overwhelming crowds of Phi Phi. 'Hong' means 'room' in Thai, named after the island's unique lagoon—a hidden chamber of emerald water accessible only by boat through a narrow rock opening. Beyond the lagoon, the island features a stunning crescent-shaped white sand beach perfect for swimming and a newly constructed 360° viewpoint. Accessed via a metal staircase, this viewpoint offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas in the Andaman Sea. Whether you choose a traditional longtail boat for an authentic touch or a modern speedboat for a quick journey, a day trip to Hong Island is an essential Krabi experience.

Stunning lagoon and viewpoint!

The highlight was definitely the lagoon. Entering through that narrow gap felt like discovering a secret world. The climb to the 360 viewpoint was tough (over 400 steps!) but the view from the top is absolutely worth the sweat. Book the speedboat if you want more time on the beach.

Beautiful but busy

We took the longtail boat option which was very authentic and charming, though a bit loud. The island itself is paradise. The lunch provided was a simple Thai buffet but tasty (Halal). Just be prepared to pay the National Park fee in cash upon arrival.

Best day in Krabi

We did the private longtail charter and it was worth every penny. We could leave earlier than the group tours and had the lagoon almost to ourselves for 20 minutes. Our guide was fantastic and took great photos of us.

Great snorkeling and organization

Very well organized tour. Picked up from Ao Nang hotel on time. The snorkeling at Lao Lading island was better than at Hong Island main beach. The water visibility was amazing. Highly recommend bringing reef-safe sunscreen.

Amazing scenery

The limestone cliffs are majestic. The boat ride was smooth. My only tip is to bring water shoes as there are some dead corals on the beach. The viewpoint is a must-do, fantastic panoramic views.

Perfect family trip

We took the speedboat tour with our two kids (8 and 10). They loved the kayaking part in the lagoon. The guides were very helpful with the children during snorkeling. A perfect day out.

Good value for money

For the price, this tour is excellent. You see multiple islands. Pakbia island was a nice quiet stop. The lunch was good chicken and rice. Just remember to bring cash for the park entrance fee.

Breathtaking views

The Hong Island viewpoint is the best in Thailand! It is new and very safe. The view of the islands scattered in the sea is unforgettable. The vegetarian lunch option was also good.
